Cataloging Operations Department

In support of the academic programs at the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, the Cataloging Operations Department builds and maintains a bibliographic database to enable users of the library to search and locate materials in all formats in the library's collections. The department catalogs, classifies, and processes library materials in all formats acquired by the University Libraries. 

In addition to its routine cataloging duties, the department regularly performs catalog database maintenance, as well as authority control work to ensure quality of MARC records for effective information retrieval purposes.
